Bruce Haggie

Fine Woodworker

A local Sunshine Coast maker, Bruce Haggie has a passion for highly figured and unusual timbers. It is this love of timber that led him to a career change 15 years ago, when he took up woodworking as a full time occupation. Over this last 15 years, Bruce has developed a reputation for the fine quality of his finish and the uniqueness of the rare but sustainable timbers he likes to work with.

Handcrafted boxes made by Bruce have been sold in galleries throughout Australia for more than a decade. Many of these are owned by collectors, and sent all around the world as gifts for dignitaries and celebrities.

Bruce has now taken the knowledge and techniques that he has refined, making boxes, and expanded this into limited run and unique furniture pieces that are both functional and artistic. Contemporary fine wood work - and almost certainly future antiques.

The timbers used in the Stylish Hall Table - Red Bean (solid) highly figured Pomelle Sapele (veneer) and Queen Ebony (inlay).
